Spain summons Celta Vigo winger Bryce Mendes for the third substitution

Spain coach Luis Enrique called up Celta Vigo winger Brice Mendes in the team’s third substitution, and Bryce Mendes replaced Villarreal’s Jeremy Pino, who was left out of the list for injury.

Spain will face Greece in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, respectively, as El Matador is a guest of Greece on Thursday, while Sweden hosts on Sunday evening.

The Spanish national team excluded Barcelona duo Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati, and included Raul de Tomas and Diego Llorente in their place.

Brice Mendes played 12 games with Celta Vigo this season in the Spanish League, and Mendes managed to score a goal and assist two others during the current season.

Injuries have hit the ranks of “La Roja” recently, as in addition to the absence of Marcos Llorente, Pedri, Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal, and Mikel Moreno to injury.

Barcelona duo Ansu Fati and Garcia joined the list, who were injured during their team’s match against Celta Vigo on Saturday, which ended in a 3-3 draw, after Barca was ahead by three goals.

In the absence of Fati, Enrique called Espanyol striker and top scorer Raul de Tomas to the national team.
Spain is preparing for the two crucial matches in its qualifying campaign.

He will first face the Greek national team at his home next Thursday, then will conclude the qualifiers with the expected confrontation with Sweden, which will determine the holder of the direct qualification for the World Cup if they win the two matches that precede this match.

The Scandinavian team is unique in the second group with 15 points, two points behind “El Matador”.
