Officially, Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has contracted the Corona virus

Former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard, the current coach of the English club Aston Villa, was infected with the Corona virus, after the positive last medical swab he underwent before facing his guest team Chelsea, scheduled for tomorrow evening, Sunday, in the nineteenth round of the English Premier League.

A club statement said Aston Villa can confirm that manager Steven Gerrard will not be able to attend the next two Premier League matches with Chelsea and Leeds United as he will be isolated after testing positive for the coronavirus.

The Villars team is preparing to host its counterpart Chelsea at 7:30 pm, tomorrow, Sunday, at Villa Park, in the nineteenth round of the English Premier League.

Gerrard, 41, took over the Aston Villa team, succeeding former coach Dean Smith on November 11, and led the team in 6 matches in the English Premier League, winning 4 games and losing two.

Aston Villa is in the tenth place in the English Premier League standings this season with 22 points, while Chelsea is in third place with 38 points, and Manchester City leads with 44 points.
