Germany snatched an exciting victory from its host Romania, 2-1, in the match that brought the two teams together on Friday evening.

The Volkspark Stadium, as part of the seventh round of the tenth and final group of European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Romanian team outperformed with a clean goal, at the end of the first half, scored by Yannis Hagi.

The son of Romanian football legend George Hagi scored the goal against Ter Stegen, the German goalkeeper, in the ninth minute, after a great individual effort, before firing a powerful shot into the net.

In the second half, the German team managed to return with the result by scoring two goals.

The first came through Bayern Munich’s Serge Naberi, with a powerful shot to the right of the Romanian goalkeeper.

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller added the second goal in the 81st minute, after following the header of his colleague Leon Goretzka into the Romanian net.

The German national team strengthened its lead in the tenth group standings in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

With 18 points, the balance of the Romanian team stopped at 10 points in fourth place.

In the same group, North Macedonia defeated its host Liechtenstein 4-0, and Iceland drew 1-1 with its Armenian counterpart.
