comments of Ten Hag on Manchester United’s match against Crystal Palace
Manchester United coach Eric ten Hag confirmed the readiness of Austrian Marcel Sabitzer, the newly joined Bayern Munich, to face Crystal Palace tomorrow, Saturday, in the English Premier League.
During the pregame press conference, Ten Hag stated: “I cannot comment on any decision on Mason Greenwood at this time; there has been a club statement and I cannot add anything else at this time.”
He said this about newcomer Sabitzer: “Marcel Sabitzer has only had one training, but he is prepared. I believe he is prepared to play, and he might debut tomorrow.”
Added he, “Crystal Palace is never easy to face. Each side is well-versed in the other. We weren’t happy with the outcome of the most recent game in London, but I expect the team to do better this time. Tomorrow we stand an excellent chance of winning.”
Regarding Varane’s departure from the international game: “Varane told me he was going to do that (international retirement). I didn’t talk about it with him. Rafa is a skilled athlete who is old enough to make his own choices. I can only publicly voice my opinion and admiration for his career thus far. There will be a tonne more.”
He went on, “Winning individual awards is always satisfying, but winning together is what matters. We must work on that, because in football, it is not the case that individuals receive awards before the team does.”
Manchester United has 34 points, which puts them in fourth place in the English Premier League’s rankings, while Crystal Palace is in twelve place with 24 points.
