Tottenham have succeeded in strengthening their defensive lines during the current summer transfer market, by including Argentine defender Christian Romero, on a 5-year contract, coming from the Italian team Atalanta, in preparation for the start of the new season 2021-2022.

The 23-year-old Romero’s transfer to Tottenham, as indicated by “Sky Sport”, amounted to about 50 million euros, in addition to another 5 million as additions and incentives.

The Argentine defender deal is the second most expensive deal concluded by Spurs in its history, with a value of 55 million euros, after midfielder Tangoy Ndombele, worth 60 million euros from the French team Lyon.

Romero played 42 games in all competitions last season, as Atalanta finished third in the Italian League and runner-up to the Italian Cup.
