Cameroon witnesses the largest Arab representation in the history of the African Nations with 7 teams

The 33rd edition of the African Nations Cup witnesses the largest Arab representation in the history of the continental championship, and a historical Arab presence, with the presence of 7 Arab teams in the second edition, which will be held with the participation of 24 teams instead of 16, after the last edition in Egypt 2019.

The start date of the African Nations Cup

The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6 this year. The Arab teams will participate in the next edition of the tournament: Algeria (the title holder), along with the teams of Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Sudan, and Comoros, which will participate in the finals for the first time in its history.

The last edition of Egypt 2019, also witnessed the participation of 5 Arab teams, namely Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Mauritania, along with the Pharaohs, the owners of the land.

The Comoros team plays in Group C in the 2022 African Nations Cup, accompanied by Morocco, Ghana and Gabon, in its first participation, after it was runner-up to the seventh group in the qualifiers, with 9 points behind Egypt, which qualified as the leader with 12 points.

The first and second place teams in the six groups, in addition to the best 4 thirds from the groups, qualify for the Round of 16 of the African Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed earlier the schedule of matches for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which Cameroon will host next year, which comes as follows:
