Conte delays Tottenham contract renewal for Juventus

 

Press reports revealed that Tottenham are planning to open talks with Italian coach Antonio Conte next month in order to renew his contract, which will expire at the end of the current season.

 

Tottenham coach Antonio Conte hopes his team will continue the series of positive results at home when they receive Everton in the English Premier League today.

 

According to the Italian newspaper Calciomercato, Antonio Conte is procrastinating in signing a new contract with Tottenham, and the Italian coach dreams of returning to Juventus and is waiting for signals from Andrea Agnelli.

 

And the Italian newspaper indicated that Conte is waiting for a signal from Juventus first before renewing his contract with Tottenham.

 

Conte took over Tottenham last November after the dismissal of Nuno Santo, and the Italian coach signed a contract until the summer of 2023, which includes the option to extend for another year.

 

While the Telegraph newspaper confirmed that during the World Cup break, Tottenham will meet with Antonio Conte for the renewal, and Spurs will see the Italian coach’s desire or not to renew his current contract, which expires at the end of the season, and his salary is now net 17.2 million euros annually.

 

And the Telegraph indicated that Tottenham will start talks with Conte next month during the World Cup, which is an ideal time to discuss his future and know his position on the extension.

 

Spurs are hoping they can convince Conte to sign a new long-term contract as they look to cement their future under the Italian.

 

The newspaper reported that Conte wants assurances and guarantees that Tottenham will continue to spend more money during the transfer market to renew his contract with Spurs.

 

Conte is always looking to compete and is keen to push Spurs as much as he can, with new players being a must.

 

Conte is said to earn around £15m a year at Tottenham, which equates to around £280,000 a week.
