Tottenham pay 20 million euros for Coutinho from Barcelona

Tottenham are preparing to battle with Arsenal and Everton in order to sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, as Spurs are allocating an amount of 20 million euros, equivalent to 16 million pounds for his inclusion.

And the English newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that Tottenham coach Antonio Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici are keen to add a skilled player to their team, with an attacking midfielder at the top of the transfer agenda.

The newspaper pointed out that the Brazilian playmaker fits Tottenham’s standards perfectly and will be available during the current transfer window, with the report claiming that Everton are the latest team to join the race for the 29-year-old.

Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 for £146m, but after suffering a nightmare in Catalonia, he was loaned to Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 season, before returning to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona are keen to lower their salary bill, with Coutinho earning £370,000 a week and are willing to let the Brazilian leave for £16m.
