After returning to the Turkish league, what did Trezeguet offer in his first experience with Qassem Pasha?

Egyptian star Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet returned to the Turkish league again during the winter transfer market, after he signed a loan contract with the famous Basaksehir team, until the end of the current season, coming from the English team Aston Villa.

Trezeguet’s return to the Turkish league came a season and a half after his departure to the English club Aston Villa, but due to a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for a long time, the player decided to return to Turkey in order to play more matches to restore his usual level.

The 27-year-old Egyptian wing had a previous experience in the Turkish league within the ranks of Qasim Pasha’s team, during which he played 71 matches in various competitions, scored 25 goals, provided 18 assists, received 8 yellow cards and received one red card.

Trezeguet succeeded, during a period with Qasim Pasha, in being in the ideal formation of the Turkish League during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons.

The Egyptian star has played 56 matches in the English Premier League since his move to Aston Villa in the summer of 2019, and played one meeting this season after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard praised the level presented by Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet with the Egyptian national team during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which was held in Cameroon.

Gerrard spoke in the press conference for his visit to Leeds United in the 24th round of the English Premier League, saying: “We congratulated Trezeguet, he was not lucky in the African Nations Cup, but he presented a good tournament.”

He added, “Trezeguet will go on loan to play continuously, and this will be good for him after an absence for several months due to a serious injury that threatened his career, so he needs to go and play and then we will discuss his situation in the summer.”

He concluded, “He has recovered well and worked hard and now he is in a good place so he must play to regain his full fitness and level before the summer period.”
