Trezeguet: The victory of Trabzon is more important than my scoring goals..I know that I came to a champion team

The Egyptian star Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet praised the victory of his team Trabzonspor with a clean goal, at the expense of its host Omranyspor team, in the meeting that brought them together on Friday evening, in the opening matches of the fifth round of the Turkish League.

The goal of Trabzonspor’s victory came through Trezeguet in the 60th minute of the match, after he followed up on a rebound from the Omranyspor goalkeeper and easily put it in the net, which is the first goal of the Egyptian star with his new team this season.

“Winning was more important for the team than my goals,” Trezeguet said in statements after the match.

He added, “I know I came to a champion team, to a great team. I’m a player trying to play for the team.” He concluded, “The first goal with Trabzon took time, but I knew it would come, and thank God for the three points.”

Trezeguet joined Trabzon during the summer Mercato from the English club Aston Villa. Trabzon managed to regain its victories in the Turkish League after losing to Antalyaspor 5-2 and a goalless draw against Galatasaray, respectively.

Trabzon raised its score to the tenth point to occupy the third place in the Turkish league standings, while Omranispor’s balance stopped at one point in the seventeenth place.
