Chelsea vs Leicester City.. Tuchel: I did not regret losing the final twice against Liverpool
German coach Thomas Tuchel spoke about his team’s latest preparations for facing its host Leicester City, today, Thursday, in the 37th round of the English Premier League for the current season 2022.
Tuchel said in the match press conference: “We have great ambition and we are not satisfied and we will not rest until we reach what we want. ”
Tuchel added: “We had key players, some of them had half a training session, club penalties, and there are exciting things that happened. We were constantly in the top three, competing with the best teams and from there we start, setting things straight.”
On the re-loaned, Tuchel explained: “They will come back, they are our players I want to be with us in the pre-season, then we decide everything that is closely related to them, how they integrate, what they do, what are our ideas for them and what they want to reach and penalties.”
“It’s too early to predict the future for them, given the role of the whole season, but they will be back in pre-season,” the Chelsea coach added.
Tuchel continued: “I refuse to judge the season on penalties. We lost twice from penalty shootouts, and this does not make it any less impressive. We are the first to admit that it is different from playing in the final and not winning the final. We are here to win and win titles.”
Tuchel added: “I feel different levels of disappointment after the finals. Everyone was sad. We left everything there after the final. We were very close. We could say that we deserved more in the finals, but Liverpool deserved it too. We did not regret anything.”
Tuchel continued: “This is a level of disappointment where you can quickly overcome and continue because you are fine with yourself. This is what we ask of ourselves, and from them yesterday’s training was good. We had two days off to accommodate it. We want to be ready tomorrow.”
And about Christensen’s decision to move? Tuchel replied: “We had to accept it. We’ll accept it. I’m doing my best not to take things personally. I still think Andreas wanted to play these matches.”
Tuchel continued: “He has struggled over the past weeks, when he is not in the team or playing and although he was physically available it was not ideal, we thought we brought him back in the best possible way.”
“The most decisive factor in the squad is to see how everyone feels and with the hunger to show and perform,” Tuchel explained.
In response to a question, will Rudiger play? Tuchel said: “Tony deserves to play, and there is no need not to give him a chance in the last matches, unfortunately Conor Gallagher will not play in the next two matches, and I spoke with Loftus-Cheek after the substitution before the penalty shootout in the FA Cup final?
