Unfortunate incidents between the police and the fans in the process of selling tickets for the Algeria-Cameroon summit

Press reports revealed that the process of selling tickets for the confrontation of the Algerian national team and its guest Cameroon in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, witnessed unfortunate incidents of violence and poor organization.

The Algerian national team will meet with its Cameroonian counterpart, at 9:30 p.m., next Tuesday, at the “Mustafa Tchaker” stadium in Blida, in the second leg of the play-off round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Moroccan “Boulea” website stated that the process of selling tickets for the decisive confrontation, which started on Sunday morning, witnessed a great turnout from the Algerian fans, who were present in the thousands in the vicinity of the “Chakir” stadium.

The site added that amid the high number of fans and the stampede inside the queues, the vicinity of the stadium witnessed “unfortunate” events between the police and the fans, as security forces used “violence” to control the situation.

The Algerian team succeeded in inflicting the first defeat on the Cameroon national team at home since October 4, 1998, when the untamed Lions of Ghana lost 1-0 in Douala during the 2000 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

On the other hand, the International Football Association “FIFA” announced the appointment of an Egyptian duo in the refereeing staff for the match between Algeria and Cameroon, which will be held next Tuesday in the last round of African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup at the Mustafa Tchaker Stadium in Blida.

The Egyptian duo, Amin Omar and Mahmoud Abu Al-Regal, are among the arbitration staff, where the first is present as the fourth referee and the second is an assistant referee, and the Gambian team is Bakari Jasama and the Angolan team, Gerson Dos Santos, as an assistant referee.
