Wijnaldum: I promise the fans to help Roma achieve all our goals this season

Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum expressed his happiness at joining the Italian side on loan for one season, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, during the current summer transfer market.

“It’s a really good feeling to be a Roma player,” Wijnaldum told the club’s official website. “Everyone I spoke to gave me great feedback about the club and its fans.”

“The club’s desire to sign me was great and that was reflected in the effort to complete the transfer, which has always given the player a lot of confidence and faith. The reception of fans on social media and elsewhere has always been great.”

“I promise to give 100% of my effort and help the team compete for all of our goals this season.”

Roma had announced the signing of midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum on a season-long loan deal from French champions Paris Saint-Germain, with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2022-23 season.

The purchase clause in Wijnaldum’s loan from Paris Saint-Germain will cost Roma 10 million euros, a large sum for the Giallorossi’s treasury.

Georginio Wijnaldum moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Liverpool in a free transfer deal last summer until June 2024.
