The French president supports Paris Saint-Germain’s contract with Zidane


French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain’s contract with national coach, Zinedine Zidane, would be a great thing for French football in general, amid speculation about the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, the current coach of the Paris team.

“I have not spoken to Zinedine Zidane, but I have great admiration for him, as a player and coach,” Macron said in statements to French radio “Monte Carlo” today, Wednesday.

The French president added: “We really want, in the French League, to have an athlete and a coach with this talent who was able to win three European Cups that we so much aspire to for our clubs.”

Emmanuel Macron stressed: “I hope that Zinedine Zidane’s influence on the French championship and on France in general, and that he comes to coach a big club here, will be wonderful.”

“My role is to say that France is a great sporting and footballing nation, and that there are great fans who love this sport. It is important for us that the best of what we have trained, who have sometimes excelled at the international level,” stressed Macron.

Emmanuel Macron, who was famous for supporting Olympique Marseille, joked about Zinedine Zidane’s relations with Marseille: “I sincerely hope that the next transfer period will be well prepared, who knows, I spoke of great coaches, whose heart is in Marseille as well. We’re dreaming!”

In a related context, French press reports revealed that the Argentine coach, Mauricio Pochettino, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, his days are numbered in the ranks of the league champion, despite the statements in which he talked about the survival of a season in his contract that ends in June 2023.

And according to the newspaper “Le Parisien”, Paris Saint-Germain has settled on the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in the coming days, despite the coach’s confirmation that he will remain until the end of his contract in the television statements he made yesterday.

Pochettino is in crisis with Paris Saint-Germain fans and a number of players after he failed to win the Champions League last season and was eliminated from the playoffs against Real Madrid.

Pochettino said in televised statements: I have a year left on my contract, there are many rumors, and according to these rumors I have been fired every week, such things (rumors) exist, the club is trying to rearrange things, the president will explain his project soon, I am calm. ”
